Chemistry builds on many of the concepts discussed in Freshmen Physical Science. Therefore, Chemistry students are expected to pass a pretest covering the main ideas about matter and reactions from Physical Science. A passing pretest grade qualifies students to stay enrolled in Chemistry but their score is not included in their course grade. Students are expected to study and prepare outside of class but approximately two days of class will be used to review the concepts. This year, the pretest will likely take place on Wednesday, August 27.
Ways to Study for the Pretest:
Review the Physical Science pages on this website
Create vocabulary flashcards
Borrow a Physical Science textbook
Study with a partner
Ask Ms. Hinkhouse for more practice sheets if needed
